What is the difference between an original and a fake?
The most obvious difference is the cut of the jersey. With replicas or counterfeit shirts, the cut usually resembles the style used from around 2010 onward, or even the modern post-2025 fit, rather than the early-90s shape.
Counterfeits are also brand-new, so the typical age-related discoloration inside the tags is missing. The colours are usually much stronger and more saturated than on original shirts from that era — for example, the red on fakes tends to be noticeably brighter.
The collar is almost always an issue: on counterfeit shirts it looks completely different from the real one. This applies both to the collar construction and to the shape of the neck opening.
